What is a Blog?

A blog is an abbreviation of the term Web Log, and is basically an on-line diary or journal. Blogging has become very popular and there are now millions of different blogs about millions of different things. Blogs are run by individuals and giant corporations alike, and are an excellent way of connecting with an audience.

Part of the appeal is that generally blogs encourage their readers to leave their thoughts about articles that have been written, creating a public conversation that anyone can contribute to. There are many different ways of creating a blog, and lots of helpful software for this purpose. Two of the most popular options are WordPress and Blogger.
